THE JUDGING

"On behalf of BR-alpha I would like to thank you very sincerely for the recognition at the 2010 WorldMediaFestival. As last year, it was a great occasion for us. We feel very well looked after by you. Naturally we hope that we'll also be able to be in Hamburg again next year." Dr. Jörg Lösel, Bayerischer Rundfunk

page_judging_1.jpg Experienced professionals from around the world knowledgeable in the fields of corporate communications, film production, as well as other subject matter experts, serve in a volunteer capacity as judges.

Attention on target groups
The WorldMediaFestival is different to most others. Work is judged not just on its creative and technical excellence, but also - and especially - on how well it speaks to its target audience. The top award in a category is not necessarily an intermedia-globe Gold but may be a Silver award or - it might also occur that awards will not be presented in a category at all.

International, independent expert jury groups in Europe and overseas judge all entries prior to the festival event. Entries are not judged on budget. Entries from large or small organisations have an equal chance of winning. All recommendations by the judges are reviewed by the executive committee which then makes the final award selections.

The judging is based upon
-Audiovisuals: Artistic creativity, technical quality, soundtrack, clarity, believability
-Print: Content, information, design, creativity
-Web: Content, information, navigation, functionality, design, creativity.

WorldMediaFestival grants intermedia-globe GOLD or intermedia-globe SILVER awards together with a certificate. As a winner of an intermedia-globe GOLD, your programme automatically becomes a nominee for an intermedia-globe GRAND AWARD (best in each of the 14 main Festival categories) from which the Special Jury for Excellence selects the winner of the intermedia-globe GRAND PRIX (best of all Festival entries). The Special Award winners are selected by the relevant special juries.

All winners of the intermedia-globe Silver and Gold are notified prior to the festival event to make sure they are present at the Gala for the Award Presentation Ceremony personally.

The winners of the GRAND AWARDS and the GRAND PRIX, along with the winners of the SPECIAL AWARDS, will only be announced in the evening at the Gala for the Award Presentation Ceremony in Hamburg - not before.
