Rules & Regulations

The Rules & Regulations for the WorldMediaFestivals | Television & Corporate Media Awards are issued in German and in English. In case of doubt the German version will be valid.

All entries must be registered and submitted via the online WorldMediaFestival registration portal. Please create an account and log in to the portal, where entry forms can be saved for editing. Multiple submissions are permitted.

Requirements:

  • A separate entry form must be completed for each category entered.
  • The entry fee must be paid for each entered entry.
  • Identical works that have already been submitted in a previous edition of the WorldMediaFestivals may not be resubmitted.
  • Entries from persons, companies, or institutions subject to EU, UN, or German sanctions - or whose payments cannot be processed due to sanctions - cannot be accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable.

2.1 Warranties and Rights Ownership

By submitting an entry, the entrant confirms that they hold all necessary rights to the submitted work. The entrant warrants that all authors, contributors, and rights holders have granted the appropriate rights of use, excluding rights managed by performing rights societies. The entrant further warrants that no third-party rights, including personality rights, prevent the festival from using the entry in accordance with these Rules & Regulations.

2.2 Rights Granted to the Festival

Upon submission, the entrant grants the festival the non-exclusive, worldwide right to use the entry strictly within the context of the WorldMediaFestival, including the right to:
• present or demonstrate the entry publicly and/or online, in whole or in part, as part of the festival event or its official communication;
• include the entry, in whole or in part, in a Festival Reel or similar festival-related compilation;
• use still images, logos, or other submitted materials for festival-related communication and promotion, including on the festival’s website and official social media channels.

2.3 Opt-Out of Public Presentation

If the entrant does not wish their entry to be shown publicly during or after the festival, this must be indicated during registration. In such cases, the entry will be used only for jury evaluation, but will still appear in all official listings, nominations, and winner announcements.

2.4 Rights to Event Footage

The festival may use all photo, video, and audio recordings created at festival events, including the Awards Gala, for promotional purposes in any medium.

2.5 Reclassification and Exclusion

The festival reserves the right to reclassify entries into more appropriate categories or to exclude entries from the competition if necessary.

2.6 Indemnification 

By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees to indemnify and hold the festival harmless against any claims, costs, or liabilities arising from:
• the festival’s use of the entry in accordance with these Rules & Regulations;
• any false or incomplete information provided by the entrant;
• any breach of third-party rights by the entrant.

3.1 All entries must have been produced on or after 1 January 2023.

3.2 “Produced” refers to the date the work was first completed and finalised for release, delivery, or distribution.

3.3 Remastered, re-edited, or otherwise modified versions of works originally completed before 1 January 2023 are not eligible.


January 31, 2026: All festival entries must have been received by the festival

The festival language is English. Entries may be submitted in any language. Non-English versions compete in the same categories as English versions.

Non-English entries must include the following:

  • English subtitles, or
  • English voice-over
  • Print entries: at least two articles/sections translated and uploaded

All entries have to be submitted online. Entry forms are saved for you for editing.

Film

Resolution:

1280 x720 (preferred) or 1920×1080

16:9, mp4, optional: .mpg; .mpeg; .mpeg4, .mov

Frame rate:25 fps
Video Codec:H.264
Audio Codec:AAC
  • Upload to server via the registration portal.

Not acceptable are:

  • Additional inserts at the beginning or end of the medium (e.g., name of entering company, category, etc.)
  • Time codes or watermarks
  • Advertisements

Film/Video Segment

A film submission must be one single standalone film.  Except in the dedicated Series/Episodic category.

Entertainment categories

Short Film: under 40 min
Film: over 40 min
Series: maximum duration per episode: 60 minutes.
Maximum number of representative episodes per series: 2 episodes.

Online categories

All submitted URLs must be active from the time you submit your entry through 8 May 2026.

If any of your materials are not in English, please provide a full English script or translation and upload it as a PDF.

  • Social Media
    – Single work: 1–3 assets, Series/multi-post work: up to 5 assets, Channel Presence: 5–10 posts, Omnia Open: up to 5 assets; screen recording for interactive formats

  • Digital Editorial
    URL or full screen recording of the piece, Up to 5 supporting visuals (screenshots, layouts, multimedia elements), Provide access credentials if required

  • Digital Experiences
    URL or interaction screen recording showing core navigation and behaviour, Up to 5 supporting visuals (key screens, states, flows), Provide access credentials if required

Campaign 

Submitters must provide multiple related executions that together form a campaign.
Single assets are not eligible.

  • Max length: 2 minutes

  • Must clearly explain the campaign idea, context, and executions.

  • May include clips of the actual campaign work.

OR

2. Case Deck (PDF)

  • Max length: 10 pages

  • Must clearly explain the campaign idea, context, and executions.

  • May include stills, frames, screenshots, or layouts of the actual campaign work.

Supporting Materials 

Entrants may upload original campaign assets separately, such as:

  • full films

  • social media posts or screenshots

  • print/OOH layouts

  • audio spots

  • digital formats

Print categories

Submissions may be digital or physical. If submitters determine that physical presentation elements, such as paper quality or print finish, enhance the work, they are welcome to send printed copies. Sending physical print materials is optional, and either format is acceptable for review.

Please send print entries in one pre-paid package to the festival office. Collect package or any customs duty will not be accepted.

Providing significant stills / images / logos from your entries to be used by the festival for promotional purposes will be appreciated, is however optional.

The entrant is responsible for the technical quality of the media submitted.

The entry fee for each festival entry is EUR 435.

Entry fees are non-refundable, including in cases of withdrawal or disqualification.

All fees are due immediately upon registration.

Fees must be paid in EUR and may be paid by:

  • credit card (processed via Stripe); or

  • bank transfer only upon request and subject to prior approval by the festival.

Entrants from EU countries must provide a valid VAT identification number including country code; otherwise, VAT will be applied.

All bank charges and transfer fees must be prepaid by the entrant.

Fees for multiple entries may be paid together in a single transaction.

A fee of EUR 50 will be charged for each requested change after the registration form has been submitted.

Judging results may be withheld until all entry fees and any additional fees have been paid in full.

All participants will be notified by email at the address registered in the festival platform that the results of their entries are available for review in the platform. The notification applies to both entries that have received an award and entries that have not received an award.

Notification will be issued at the beginning of April, approximately four weeks prior to the Awards Gala.

The final announcement of whether an awarded entry has received a Silver, Gold, or higher award will be made at the Awards Gala on 7 May 2026 in Berlin, Germany.

Following the Awards Gala, the festival will publish the award results on its website and update the corresponding information in the festival platform.

The festival reserves the right to reclassify festival entries into other categories where this is deemed appropriate. The festival does not accept any responsibility for festival entries which are classified in the wrong category or arrive at the festival office subsequent to the deadline specified. The festival’s liability is confined to intent or grossly negligent conduct.

The festival accepts no responsibility for the cancellation, postponement, or modification of the festival or associated events due to force majeure, including but not limited to terrorism, threats of terrorism, strike action, pandemics, natural disasters, official orders, or any other events beyond the festival’s control.

  •  Awards (trophy and certificate) must be claimed within the claim period communicated in the winners notification. Unclaimed awards may no longer be available and may be repurposed or recycled.
  • Duplicates (extra trophies or certificates) may be ordered for a limited period communicated in the winners notification. They are produced on demand and shipped after production.
  •  Awards not collected at the Gala will not be sent automatically. Winners must claim their award and provide a delivery address and payment of shipping costs.
    Shipments are made under Incoterm DAP (Delivered At Place); all customs duties and import fees are the responsibility of the recipient. The recipient must provide an accurate delivery address, and any costs arising from failed delivery or a second dispatch will be charged to the recipient.

Event tickets are sold separately from entry fees and are non-refundable.

The festival reserves the right to compile entries on a “Festival Reel” or similar, also in processed form, and to distribute same on a medium deemed appropriate by the festival, this also applies to stills/images provided to the festival. The entrants transfer all rights appropriate in this context upon entrance of the festival entry to the festival. The festival reserves the right to use all recordings taken at the festival event for any promotional purpose in any medium deemed appropriate by the festival. The festival reserves the right to exclude entries from the competition.

By entering a festival entry the entrant accepts all Rules and Regulations and also agrees to hold the festival harmless against all costs or claims of third parties arising from any such use by the festival or from false information by the entrant.

Personal data is processed exclusively for festival administration, communication, judging, and award handling, in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data will not be sold or rented to third parties. Further details are provided in the festival’s Privacy Policy.

Exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with the festival is Hamburg, Germany.
