Serving as a juror at the WorldMediaFestivals offers the opportunity to help shape how excellence in global media is recognised. Our juries bring together experienced professionals whose judgement and analytical skills ensure that film, television, digital, and corporate productions from across the world are evaluated with care and expertise.

Engaging With a Wide Range of Work

Submissions span the full breadth of contemporary media production. Some projects introduce new creative approaches, while others take a more traditional or purpose-driven path. Jurors assess each work in relation to its intention, category, and execution.

An Application-Based Selection

Jury positions are filled through an application process. Applicants outline what they believe qualifies them, including relevant experience, areas of expertise, and their approach to evaluating creative work. This enables the formation of balanced and knowledgeable juries.

Independent, Expert Evaluation

Jurors review assigned submissions individually so that each project is considered on its own merits. The process values fairness, clarity of reasoning, and respect for the intent behind the work. Confidentiality and impartiality are essential expectations.

To maintain full impartiality, jurors cannot serve on the jury and submit work as participants in the same festival year.

A Global, Diverse Community

Juries include professionals from different countries and disciplines. This international mix brings varied perspectives on production, storytelling, and communication, enriching the evaluation environment.

Honorary Role and Professional Recognition

Jury service is an honorary role. Jurors volunteer their expertise to support the festival’s commitment to recognising high-quality media worldwide. To acknowledge this contribution, all jurors receive:
• A physical certificate of service
• A digital Juror Badge for use on professional platforms

Jurors also gain the opportunity to see productions they might not encounter in their day-to-day work, offering valuable industry insight and broader perspective.

Time Commitment and Expectations

Jury work is conducted remotely and within set timelines. Jurors:
• Review a curated set of submissions in their category
• Apply established criteria to assess clarity of intent, craft, and effectiveness
• Provide thoughtful scoring that supports a reliable and consistent evaluation process

Professionalism, discretion, and a reflective mindset are key.
